LOS ANGELES — The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards drew 6.7 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, a drop of roughly 10% from last year’s ceremony on CBS, according to early Nielsen figures.
Hosted by Mariska Hargitay, the show faced stiff competition from Monday Night Football. Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay dominated with a record 14 Emmys for a comedy, while The Pitt repeated as best drama.
Context on the Numbers
The total is still higher than NBC’s previous Monday Emmys in 2022 and far above the pandemic-era lows. Streaming and social metrics showed gains, with NBC noting strong Peacock performance.
Emmy Awards viewership falls to 6.7 million amid NFL competition, continuing a long-term soft trend for the awards show.
