American Idol Moving Production From Los Angeles to Georgia for Season 25

American Idol is relocating its production from Los Angeles to the Atlanta area in Georgia beginning with Season 25.

Fremantle, which produces the long-running singing competition, confirmed the move. The show has filmed at Red Studios in Hollywood for more than two decades. Judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, along with host Ryan Seacrest, are expected to continue with the series.

The decision comes as unscripted production in California has declined and Georgia offers competitive tax incentives for reality programming. Season 25 is scheduled to premiere in early 2027 on ABC, with episodes streaming the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.

Auditions for the new season are already underway across the country.
