Dancing With the Stars Season 35 opened with a two-night premiere, and the first celebrity has already been eliminated.
On Tuesday night’s men’s competition, Conner Leavitt and pro partner Adele Zaikman were sent home after their salsa to “Whoomp! (There It Is).” The pair scored 12 out of 30 from the judges.
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson led the night with a perfect 21 for their cha-cha to “Let’s Groove.” Paralympian Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach earned a strong 20 for their tango to Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone.”
Other scores included Tyler Cameron (17), Connor Wood and Taylor Hanson (both 16), Jackson Olson (15), and Guillermo Rodriguez with the lowest mark of the night at 10.
A technical issue with online voting meant only text votes counted for the elimination. The female celebrities compete Wednesday night, with another elimination expected.
Season 35 features a record-tying 16 celebrity contestants competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
