A lot of people jump straight into heavy sets or intense cardio. That often leads to feeling tight, reduced performance, or small strains.
A short warm-up raises body temperature, improves mobility, and prepares your joints and nervous system for work.
A Simple 5-Minute Warm-Up
- 1 minute of light marching or jogging in place
- 10–15 arm circles each direction
- 10 bodyweight squats (slow and controlled)
- 5–8 lunges per leg
- 20–30 seconds of cat-cow or gentle torso twists
Why It Matters
You do not need a long, complicated warm-up. Five focused minutes is usually enough for general training. For heavier strength work, you can add a couple of lighter sets of the main exercise afterward.
Quick Tip
If you are short on time, never skip the warm-up completely. Even 3 minutes of movement is better than going in cold.
