Quick answer: Horse Life’s Haunted Castle opened on October 16, 2026, at 20:15 UTC (4:15 p.m. EDT; October 17 at 1:45 a.m. IST). The Week 2 update adds a new lore mission, spooky minigames and Halloween rewards. The broader Halloween event already includes a separate seasonal map, the Calaverita event species, and returning Ghoulsteed and Hauntmare horses. Exact castle reward requirements should be checked in-game because the public announcement does not list every objective.
If you have already visited Horse Life’s Halloween map, the Haunted Castle is the next stop to explore. The update is part of the seasonal event rather than a separate game: enter the experience, open the event interface, and look for the castle and its new mission markers.
What arrived with the Haunted Castle update?
The published event coverage confirms three main additions: access to the Haunted Castle, a new lore mission, and spooky minigames with Halloween rewards. It does not publish a complete reward table, so be cautious of guides that promise a specific item or amount without showing the in-game requirements.
- Haunted Castle exploration: Visit the castle area and check its entrances and nearby NPCs for mission prompts.
- New lore mission: Follow the mission dialogue and objectives in order. If a step does not appear, check the event interface and revisit the relevant NPC.
- Spooky minigames: Try the seasonal activities and note which ones reward event progress or items.
- Halloween rewards: Check the event journal or reward screen after each activity; the exact reward details may be revealed in-game as you progress.
What can you unlock in the wider Halloween event?
The event is larger than the castle alone. The current Horse Life experience description confirms a new Halloween map and Calaverita, while event coverage says Ghoulsteed and Hauntmare also return. The main-realm spawn area has also been revamped.
- Calaverita: A new event horse species associated with the seasonal event. Check the event journal for its progression and unlock requirements rather than assuming it spawns like a regular wild horse.
- Ghoulsteed and Hauntmare: Returning Halloween-themed species. Availability and progression can differ by event week, so check the current reward track.
- Seasonal map: Explore the Halloween area for NPCs, activities and event objectives.
- Castle mission rewards: Complete the new mission and minigames, then confirm the reward screen to see what was credited to your account.
How to make progress without wasting time
- Start with the event journal. Read the active objective and reward conditions before roaming the map.
- Follow the new lore mission first. Story missions may unlock or direct you toward new castle content. Finish each step before switching activities.
- Try each minigame at least once. This helps identify which activities match your skill level and which ones contribute to event progress.
- Track reward requirements. Record any currency, score or task count shown in the interface. Do not rely on old event guides for 2026 costs.
- Keep the event species separate in your plan. Calaverita, Ghoulsteed and Hauntmare may use different unlock paths. Verify each species’ requirements before spending time or resources.
- Recheck the castle after updates. Seasonal missions can change across event weeks, and the developers may add objectives later.
Is the Haunted Castle still available today?
The published schedule places the Haunted Castle opening on October 16, 2026, at 20:15 UTC. Since the event is scheduled to continue through multiple weeks, the castle content is relevant after its opening day too. Availability, quest status and individual reward conditions should be confirmed inside the game.
Open Horse Life on Roblox. The official experience description currently advertises the Halloween map and Calaverita event horse.
