Beginners often think they need to train 5–6 days a week to see results. That approach frequently leads to soreness, skipped sessions, and quitting.
A Better Starting Point
3 full-body strength sessions per week is excellent for most beginners. Add daily walking on top of that.
Why 3 Days Works Well
- Enough stimulus to improve strength and body composition
- Enough recovery between sessions
- Easier to stay consistent long term
Example Weekly Structure
Monday – Full body
Wednesday – Full body
Friday or Saturday – Full body
Other days – Walking or light movement
When to Add More
After 8–12 weeks of consistent training, you can consider a 4th session or more specialized work if recovery and energy are good.
Final Advice
Start with a schedule you can actually keep. Building the habit of showing up is more important than maximizing training volume in the first few months.
